Wafer butterfly valves are compact and economical; lug valves allow end-of-line service, while flanged butterfly valves are preferred for larger pipelines that require greater stability.
Common materials include Cast Iron, Ductile Iron, Stainless Steel (SS304/SS316), and PVC. SS316L and SS304 are generally preferred for pharmaceutical, Dairy, food, and beverage applications because of their corrosion resistance.
Service life depends on operating conditions, media, maintenance, and cycle frequency. High-quality SS316 steel valves can provide many years of reliable operation with proper maintenance.
A butterfly valve size should match the pipeline diameter while considering required flow rate, pressure drop, and operating conditions.
Butterfly valves provide compact, economically moderate flow throttling, whereas ball valves excel at tight shut-off but risk fluid entrapment during throttling.

Flush bottom valves are primarily used in applications where complete drainage of tanks and reactors is required, with minimal product hold-up.
Flush bottom valves are mostly used in pharmaceutical, biotechnology, food processing, chemical, cosmetic, and speciality manufacturing industries.
Yes. Flush bottom valve hygienic design is specifically engineered for integration with Clean-in-Place (CIP) and Steam-in-Place (SIP) processes.
The main selection criteria for a flush bottom valve depend on tank design (outlet nozzle) and tank discharge pipe connection (Usually one size smaller to tank outlet nozzle). Other criteria include the product characteristics, operating pressure, temperature, automation requirements, and applicable industry standards.
A flush bottom valve is mounted on the lower end of the tank at the same level as the bottom of the vessel interior, thus eliminating dead legs and the possibility of fluid stagnation. This flush profile prevents contamination/biofilm formation while ensuring complete drainability and effective cleaning-in-place
The Flocon Industries Non-return Valve is a hygienic unidirectional check valve used in various processes across the critical hygiene industries to prevent reverse flow. Our manufactured valve is easy to install and maintain, ensuring process safety and high product quality. Our non-return valve consists of a valve body made up of two parts, valve plug and spring, assembled by means of a clamp ring or SMS Nut and hygienically sealed with a special seal ring. A guide disc with four legs ensures alignment of the spring-loaded valve plug with an O-ring seal. The valve is available with triclover ends, SMS union ends, and butt weld ends. The basic operation consists of a spring that acts on the valve plug and keeps the valve closed until the force from the pressure in the inlet exceeds the force of the spring. If a reverse flow should occur, the spring force and the pressure from the outlet shut off the valve plug, preventing opposite flow. The minimum required differential pressure for opening the valve when fitted in a vertical pipe is approximately 0.2 to 0.5kg/cm2.
